An adult character never learned how to ride a bike. Usually they have to ask another character to teach them, and it doesn't go well.

• Frasier: Season 10, episode 16, "Fraternal Schwinns" (2003). KACL is holding a charity bike-a-thon, and Frasier and Niles are forced to admit they never learned to ride a bike, and Daphne volunteers to teach them. Frasier has a habit of always riding directly into a mailbox, but after a rough start, he and Niles finally get the hang of it. Unfortunately, the day of the bike-a-thon, Julia makes a joke about Frasier riding into a mailbox, and it psychs him out, so he does just that.
• Malcolm in the Middle: Season 7, episode 17, "Hal's Dentist" (2006). Lucky Aide is holding a charity bike-a-thon, and Reese catches Lois trying to teach herself to ride a bike. He confronts her, and she admits that she never learned to ride a bike, so Reese tries to teach her, but her crippling fear of falling hinders her progress, so Reese crashes into her while she's riding to help her get over her fear. It works, but Reese gets badly injured.
• The Office (US): Season 7, episode 5, "The Sting" (2010). Oscar shows off his new bike, which is the same one Lance Armstrong rides. While the gang is discussing it, Michael tries to ride it and immediately falls. He tries it a few more times and keeps falling. When the gang question whether he knows how to ride bike, he swears he did it before, but then he admits that he "had those extra wheels on the back that support you."
