- It's a Living: Season 4, episode 9, "Farewell, My Sonny" (1986). The restaurant hosts a murder mystery party that ends with what looks like a real murder, and Sonny is the number one suspect.
- The Golden Girls: Season 7, episode 2, "The Case of the Libertine Bell" (1991). Blanche invites the rest of the gang to join her for a murder mystery weekend, where she hopes to impress her boss so she can land promotion, but things get out of hand when Blanche's boss turns up in her bed, and she's the prime suspect.
- 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 5, episode 4, "Dial M for Dick" (1999). The gang joins marry at a murder mystery weekend, but no one told them it was all game, and they think there's a real murderer in their midst.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 3, episode 16, "Hostess to Murder" (1999). Maya hosts a murder mystery party at her apartment and convinces the whole gang to come, but things go awry when her nextdoor neighbor actually dies.

Rumors are spreading about Dunder Mifflin possibly declaring bankruptcy, and everyone's nervously waiting for news, so to distract the staff, Michael holds a murder mystery party in the conference room with an audio game called "Belles, Bourbon, and Bullets."
