- Seinfeld: Season 3, episode 4, "The Dog" (1991). While Jerry is preoccupied by temporarily taking care of a dog, Elaine and George hang out together, and they find they have nothing to talk about until they start making fun of Jerry's quirks.
- Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place: Season 2, episode 21, "Two Guys, a Girl and Barenaked Ladies" (1999). Ashley wants Berg to come with her to the salon, but he doesn't want to go, so he insists she bring Sharon instead. At first, they get along about as well as usual, but once Sharon starts revealing some embarrassing secrets about Berg. They have so much fun talking trash about Berg, that they start doing it on a regular basis.
- Community: Season 1, episode 4, "Social Psychology" (2009). Shirley and Jeff walk the same way to class, and Jeff tries to avoid Shirley because she likes to talk, but when they start making fun of Britta's boyfriend, Vaughn, they both enjoy it so much that their daily walks turn into daily bitch fests.
- Silicon Valley: Season 4, episode 3, "Intellectual Property" (2017). Dinesh has a date with a woman named Mia, who knows Gilfoyle from a hacker forum. They go out to dinner, and the conversation is lacking, until Dinesh gets a text from Gilfoyle and calls him a "prick." That sparks a lively conversation about how much Gilfoyle sucks and ends with them spending the night together.
