Remember Me?
A character runs into someone who claims to be from their past, and the character doesn't know who they are, but they pretend they do, hoping they'll figure it out eventually.

- The Dick Van Dyke Show: Season 1, episode 6, "Harrison B. Harding of Camp Crowder, MO" (1961). A man named Harrison B. Harding visits Rob at work, claiming to be an old army buddy, but Rob doesn't know who he is.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 5, episode 7, "A New Sue Ann" (1974). A young woman shows up at Mary's house and says she's the sister of Carla Munson, who she claims went to high school with Mary, but Mary doesn't remember her or her sister.
- Wings: Season 2, episode 5, "A Standup Kind of Guy" (1990). A guy named Jerry Stark calls and says he's an old friend of Joe's from high school, but Joe doesn't remember him, so he plays along and agrees with everything he says, including agreeing to be the best man in his wedding.
- The Golden Girls: Season 7, episode 11, "From Here to the Pharmacy" (1991). A soldier comes home from the war and is excited to be reunited with the love his life, Blanch, but Blanche doesn't remember him at all.
- The Golden Girls: Season 7, episode 13, "Old Boyfriends" (1992). A man from St. Olaf, who claims to be Rose's old boyfriend, comes to visit, and Rose ha sn idea who he is, when she remembers, she feels badly because she only went out with him to make Charlie jealous.
- Father Ted: Season 2, episode 11, "A Christmassy Ted" (1996). A priest shows up at the parochial house and claims to be an old friend of Ted's, but Ted doesn't recognize him. To find out his name, he tells Mrs. Doyle to try to guess what it is, and amazingly, she guesses it in less than an hour.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 3, episode 4, "Funny Girl" (1998). Maya runs into a guy in an elevator who claims he went to Stanford with her. She doesn't recognize him, but she pretends she does anyway. Later, she finds out he's an actor hired by Finch as part of an elaborate practical joke.
