Hiccups

A character gets an uncontrollable case of the hiccups and has to attempt weird cures.

Appearances

• The Munsters: Season 2, episode 30, "Herman's Sorority Caper" (1966). Herman gets a bad case of the hiccups, so Grandpa tries to cure him by putting him under a hypnotic spell, which leads to his being used as a prop in a fraternity prank.
• Cheers: Season 6, episode 10, "A Kiss is Still a Kiss" (1987). Frasier has the hiccups, and everyone at the bar has a suggestion for how to get rid of them.
• ALF: Season 2, episode 8, "Something's Wrong with Me" (1987). Alf gets a case of the melmacian hiccups, which are much louder than human hiccups, and they threaten to ruin Dorothy and Whizzer's wedding. Unfortunately, there's only one cure: cat juice.
• Night Court: Season 7, episode 14, "Futureman" (1990). Bull has the hiccups, and he keeps trying weird ways to cure them, like wearing a bag on his head, standing on his head, and holding his breath for an extended period of time.
