Two friends decide to move in together and think it's a great idea, but they end up hating each other.

- The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis: Season 1, episode 28, "Live Alone and Like It" (1960). Dobie wants to be independent, so he moves out of his parents' house and rents an apartment with Maynard.
- Night Court: Season 7, episode 1, "Life with Buddy" (1989). Harry lets Buddy move in with him, but he quickly starts to drive Harry crazy, and Harry blows up at him. When Harry finds a note from Buddy saying he moved out, he feels guilty, but Buddy explains he left because he can't stand living with Harry's "quirks."
- ALF: Season 4, episode 11, "Happy Together" (1989). When Alf gets into a big fight with Willie, he decides to move in with Willie's brother, Neal. At first, they're both happy with the arrangement, but Alf quickly wears out his welcome.
- Herman's Head: Season 1, episode 14, "That's What Friends Aren't For" (1992). Herman and Jay decide to become roommates so they can afford a swanky apartment, but they start driving each other nuts almost immediately.
- Bob: Season 1, episode 21, "Tell Them Willy Mammoth is Here" (1993). Kathy Fleisher is moving out of her parents' house, and she asks Trisha to be her roommate. Trisha is reluctant at first, but after she sees how nice the apartment is, she gets excited. After Trisha moves in, Kathy reveals that she asked Albie to move in too, and Trisha finds the two of them together unsufferable.
