- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 1, episode 18, "Who is Gordon Simms?" (1979). Venus refuses to have his photo taken for an advertisement. When Andy presses him for an explanation, he confesses that he deserted from the army during the Vietnam war.
- Night Court: Season 1, episode 3, "The Former Harry Stone" (1984). Dan starts taking bets on how old Harry is, and to find out the answer, Lana orders his personnel record, but to everyone's surprise, she gets his sealed criminal record instead.
- It's a Living: Season 3, episode 7, "Hail to the Chef" (1985). The president is coming to the restaurant, and the Secret Service is investigating all the employees ahead of his visit. Jan is nervous because in the '60s, she got arrested for mooning a cop at an anti-war rally.
- NewsRadio: Season 4, episode 4, "Super Karate Monkey Death Car" (1997). When the gang finds out that Mr. James's efficiency expert is giving everyone in the office a lie detector test, they meet to discuss potential dirty secrets that might come out, and Lisa reveals her surprisingly long list of crimes, all of which she committed because she was worried about her school grades.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 5, episode 3, "Mum's the Word" (2000). After Maya pesters him to vote, Elliot reveals he can't because he's a convicted felon; when he was 19, he stole a mail truck and took it for a joyride. He asks Maya not to tell anyone, but soon the whole office knows, and Elliot thinks they're looking at him suspiciously.
- The Office (US): Season 3, episode 9, "The Convict" (2006). The Accounting department receives a credit from the government, and Jan tells them it's for hiring an ex-con, Martin, one of the new transfers from Stamford. After Michael tells everyone that Martin's been tor prison, Martin regales them all with tales of his time in stir, which actually sounds better than working for Dunder Mifflin.
- Saxondale: Season 2, episode 5, (2007). Tommy sits up at night worrying about his court case, and he reveals to Magz that he "has a past." In 1974, and a group of friends stole a Land Rover, drove it to Cornwall, and had some scones and clotted cream until one of them confessed to the police.
