Appearances
- Seinfeld: Season 4, episode 17, "The Outing" (1993). Elaine thinks some women at another table at the diner are eavesdropping on them, so she plays a joke on them by saying Jerry and George are a gay couple, and George plays along. One of the eavesdropping women turns out to be an NYU reporter, who interviews Jerry while George is over and writes an article about their being gay. It's not long before bigger newspapers pick up the story, and the whole city thinks Jerry and George are gay (not that there's anything wrong with that).
- Frasier: Season 2, episode 3, "The Matchmaker" (1994). Frasier wants to fix up Daphne with the new station manager, Tom, so he invites Tom over for dinner, but Tom misunderstands the invite and thinks Frasier wants to date him.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 2, episode 13, "Pass the Salt" (1998). Finch's dad, Red, visits the office, and he's acting a little strange, taking him to see Showboat and wanting to talk. When Dennis questions Red, he tells Dennis that he knows he's gay, and he's doing everything he can to make him feel comfortable. Dennis keeps telling Red that he's not gay, but Red refuses to believe him.
- Malcolm in the Middle: Season 6, episode 4, "Pearl Harbor" (2004). Jessica hangs out at the house and plays a prank on Reese and Malcolm. She convinces each of them that the other is gay, and they both do out-of-character things to make each other feel comfortable, including singing along to Abba.
- Still Game: Season 4, episode 6, "Who's the Daddy?" (2005). Jack and Victor ask Shug to put a hatch between their flats so they can share Jack's Sky subscription. The next morning, Isa knocks on Jack's door and sees Victor in his apartment wearing pajamas, then she watches them through the mail slot and sees Victor showing Jack a boil on his ass and concludes that they're gay. Isa being Isa, she tells the whole town, and Boabby and the gang at The Clansman put on some Abba and try to dance as a way to make Jack and Victor feel comfortable.
