- Too Close for Comfort: Season 2, episode 8, "The Remaking of Monroe" (1981). Sara gets upset when Monroe doesn't stand up to some jerks who stole their seats at a concert, so April suggests he take an assertiveness course. After he takes the course, Monroe turns into an even bigger jerk than the ones from the concert.
- It's a Living: Season 3, episode 21, "America's Sweetheart" (1986). Jan feels that Amy is letting Nancy take advantage of her by having her run her errands, so she gives her a book on how to say no, but it turns her into a jerk.
- Herman's Head: Season 1, episode 5, "Fatal Distraction" (1991). Louise takes an assertiveness training class because she "walked into the wrong room and didn't have the nerve to leave," and the next day, she walks into the office barking insults at Heddy, but she loses her nerve again when she tries to tell Mr. Bracken to get his own coffee.
- Herman's Head: Season 3, episode 7, "Hermo-tivated" (1993). Herman attends a motivational seminar and comes back acting like a douchebag with slicked back and a pushy attitude.
- Wings: Season 7, episode 9, "The Big Sleep" (1995). In Joe's nightmare, Antonio starts listening to self help tapes that teach him to act like a jerk and demand everything he wants. He even demands that the plane "go up" when it's plummeting into the ocean.
