Sexual Surrogate
A character works as a sexual surrogate, which is a person (usually a woman) who "helps" people with their sexual hangups by sleeping with them (for a fee), but they're so totally not a prostitute.

- Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman: Season 1, episode 61 (1976). Mary meets a woman named Mona, who calls herself a "sex therapist," and she asks her for help with her and Tom's sex life. Things are going well until Mona tells Mary she's a surrogate. Mary looks up "surrogate" in the dictionary and is alarmed when realizes Mona might be planning to have sex with Tom.
- Barney Miller: Season 3, episode 17, "Sex Surrogate" (1977). A woman is arrested for shooting her husband because she found out he's been seeing a sexual surrogate, so the cops bring the surrogate in for questioning.
- Too Close for Comfort: Season 1, episode 10, "A Friend in Need" (1981). Monroe has been depressed lately, and he confesses to Henry that it's because he's still a virgin, so Sara decides to help him out by letting him use her and Jackie's apartment for his appointment with a sexual surrogate.
