• Barney Miller: Season 3, episode 7, "The Recluse" (1976). The cops arrest a recluse for not appearing for jury duty, thus forcing him to leave his house for the first time in 30 years.
• Taxi: Season 4, episode 8, "Fledgling" (1981). Elaine helps a reclusive artist face his fear and leave his apartment. When she brings him to the garage, he gets into a cab and refuses to come out.
• The Golden Girls: Season 6, episode 2, "Once in St. Olaf" (1990). While volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Sophia and Dorothy meet a man named Jimmy, who hasn't left his apartment in 22 years, and Dorothy helps him face his fear and go outside.
• Still Game: Season 3, episode 5, "Oot" (2004). A man named Archie hasn't left his home in 40 years, but the council is demolishing his building, so he has to come out to move to a new flat, and the whole town is there to greet him. While he's waiting for his new flat to be ready, Jack and Victor take him around town to catch up on the world and try new things, like a microwave and a Big Mac. Once he's settled in his new place, Jack and Victor are convinced he'll start going out now, but he doesn't want to.
