A student has to pretend to be married to someone in their class for a school assignment. Sometimes they also have to raise an egg.

• Diff'rent Strokes: Season 2, episode 5, "Birds and Bees" (1979). Willis is assigned a pretend wife for a class, and the two of them spend most of their time arguing on the phone about their pretend marriage.
• Mr. Belvedere: Season 2, episode 12, "Speechless" (1986). Kevin and a girl from his class named Wendy pretend to be a married couple for a school assignment, and Wendy starts taking it a little too seriously.
• Head of the Class: Season 2, episode 18, "For Better, For Worse" (1988). Bernadette teaches a class on marriage and pairs off all the IHP students as pretend married couples, and they all end up hating each other.
• The Goldbergs: Season 2, episode 15, "Happy Mom, Happy Life" (2015). Adam and Dana are assigned to pretend to be a married couple and take care of a Cabbage Patch doll for school, and Beverly keeps mixing in.
