- The Odd Couple: Season 5, episode 4, "The Hollywood Story" (1974). Oscar is going to LA to shoot a cameo in a movie, and Crazy Rhoda Zimmerman backs out of the trip at the last minute, so he reluctantly brings Felix with him.
- The Golden Girls: Season 3, episode 16, "Grab That Dough" (1988). The gang takes a trip to Hollywood to appear on a game show.
- Cheers: Season 10, episode 24, "Heeeeeere's... Cliffy!" (1992). Cliff submits a joke to The Tonight Show
and receives a rejection letter, but Norm alters the letter to make it look like the joke was accepted, and Cliff is so excited that he buys tickets for him, his mother, and Norm to fly to Hollywood to watch the show.
- Seinfeld: Season 4, episodes 1-2, "The Trip" (1992). After Jerry takes his spare key away, Kramer runs away to LA and tries to make it in show business, but his plans are derailed when he gets arrested under suspicion of being the infamous "Smog Strangler," and Jerry and George head south to try to clear his name.
- The Nanny: Season 3, episode 11, "The Unkindest Cut" (1995). Fran hires Brighton to videotape a friend's baby's bris, and the shock of witnessing the ceremony causes him to pass out. Fran sends the tape to "America's Wackiest Home Videos," and it's selected for the show, so the whole family gets a free trip to Hollywood, where Fran causes a commotion on the set of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
- The Simpsons: Season 11, episode 1, "Beyond Blunderdome" (1999). Homer gets free tickets to a movie screening for test-driving an electric car, and he and Marge get to preview a new Mel Gibson re-make of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Homer's the only one there who hated it, and when Mel Gibson reads his comment card, he flies Homer to Hollywood to help him change the ending.
