A male character who is either married or in a committed relationship stays in a hotel without his significant other (usually for work) and is tempted by an attractive woman.

- The Bob Newhart Show: Season 2, episode 2, "Motel" (1973). Bob and Jerry stay at a hotel in Peoria so they can watch a game that's blacked out in Chicago, and Jerry picks up two women at the bar, one of whom has the hots for Bob.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 7, episode 12, "Ted's Temptation" (1976). Ted goes to a convention without Georgette, and an attractive journalist tries to seduce him.
- Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman: Season 1, episode 45 (1976). Despite Martha's protests, George goes to the union convention in Milwaukee, and Martha's worst fears come true. A strange woman comes to George's hotel room and seduces him. Then a man comes in and takes a photo of them in bed together so he can blackmail George into backing out of the election for union president.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 3, episode 5, "Hotel Oceanview" (1980). Herb goes on a business trip to Dayton and is seduced by a beautiful former high school classmate of his, but he doesn't do more than kiss her because he finds out she's transgender.
- Newhart: Season 2, episodes 1-2, "It Happened One Afternoon" (1983). Dick travels to New York City to talk to an infamously promiscuous starlet about possibly ghostwriting her tell-all book, and she insists that she can't tell him all the intimate details of her love life unless she's "intimate" with him. She goes so far as to chase him around her hotel room, leading Dick to lock himself in the bathroom to get away from her.
- Mr. Belvedere: Season 3, episode 8, "The Reunion" (1986). While at a hotel in Johnstown for his class reunion, George hits it off with his high school crush, Donna, invites her back to his room, and kisses her. Meanwhile Mr. Belvedere does his best to remind George of his wife and kids back home.
- Newhart: Season 6, episode 19, "The Big Uneasy" (1988). Dick and Michael travel to New Orleans to try to sell Vermont Today into syndication. A beautiful network executive says she'll buy the show only if Michael sleeps with her, and he plans to do it right up until the last minute.
- Murphy Brown: Season 2, episode 21, "On the Road Again" (1990). While in Kansas visiting a new network affiliate, Murphy talks Jim into flirting with a woman at the hotel bar. They hit it off and talk all night until she asks Jim up to her room.
- The Simpsons: Season 5, episode 9, "The Last Temptation of Homer" (1993). Homer is uncontrollably attracted to the new woman at the plant, and she's interested in him, and they're both trying to ignore their feelings, but Mr. Burns sees the two of them talking and decides to send them on a business trip together, where they're continually thrust into intimate situations that test Homer's faithfulness to Marge.
- Bob: Season 2, episode 5, "Kiss and Sell" (1993). Bob goes on a sales trip to St. Louis, and his client, an attractive businesswoman, comes onto him. Later, she "apologizes" by showing up in his room with champagne and caviar.
