• The Dick Van Dyke Show: Season 3, episode 22, "My Part-Time Wife" (1964). While Sally's away, Laura fills in at Rob's office as a typist and does a "perfect" job, which annoys Rob for some reason.
• The Bob Newhart Show: Season 2, episode 5, "Emily in for Carol" (1973). Emily fills in as receptionist at Bob's office while Carol's on vacation, and she and Bob are both unhappy working together. Just as Emily's about to quit, Bob fires her.
• The Powers That Be: Season 2, episode 13, "Bradley Gets Fired" (1993). When Caitlyn tells Margaret that she's going to work for Theodore, Margaret decides to work for Bill, but she just gets in the ay and flubs interviews with the press, so Bill decides she has to go, and instead of firing her, he tells her she has to quit.
• The Office (US): Season 8, episode 9, "Mrs. California" (2011). Robert California's wife, Susan, comes to the office to ask for a job, and Robert tells Andy that "under no circumstances" should he give her one, but as Andy tries to find a place for her, Robert sends him mixed signals about whether or not he wants her to work there. Eventually, Susan figures out what's going on, and the Californias get into an argument that leads to their divorce in a subsequent episode.
