Introducing the Ultimate Sitcom Actor Tournament
This contest will determine the ultimate, most prolific sitcom actor of all time. Each round matches two pairs of actors, two men and two women, in order of when they were most active on television, beginning with the 1950s and going up to the 2000s. In the championship round, the winning man and woman will face each other to determine the ultimate sitcom actor. Starting today, I’ll post one round per day leading up to the ultimate championship round.
Scores are determined based on the following point system. The actor with the most points wins.
Guest Appearances (1 point per episode): The actor played one character no more than two times. Multiple appearances on the same show count only if the actor played different characters.
Recurring Roles (5 points per season): The actor played the same character at least three times and appeared in less than 50% of the episodes in a season.
Regular Roles: (10 points per season): The actor played the same character in at least 50% of the episodes in a season.
Starring Roles (20 points per season): The actor played the main character in at least 90% of the episodes in a season.
