This is round two of The Ultimate Sitcom Actor Tournament. For rules, point values, and other information, see the introduction.
In round one, Bernie Kopell beat Steve Franken by a landslide with 265 points, and Charlotte Rae wiped the floor with Nita Talbot with her 243 points. In round two, Bernie Kopell and Charlotte Rae will face off against Vito Scotti and Alice Ghostley.
Vito Scotti
Though he’s probably best known for playing Nazorine, the bakery owner in The Godfather, Vito Scotti was a prolific television actor from the 50s through the 90s. Despite his very Italian-sounding name, he capably played characters with all manner of accents. He appeared in some of the earliest sitcoms, including Mama Rosa in 1950, which may hold the record for the most short-lived sitcom of all time with only two episodes. His later appearances include The Dick Van Dyke Show, My Favorite Martian, The Addams Family, The Munsters, Gilligan’s Island, Batman, The Odd Couple, and The Golden Girls to name a few. Scotti was a busy actor right up until he passed away in 1996 at the age of 78.

She also made guest appearances on Car 54 Where Are You?, The Odd Couple, Good Times, The Golden Girls, and Dharma & Greg among many others. She semi-retired in 2000 and made one more TV appearance in 2006 before she passed away in 2007 at 84 years old.
