The gang attends an awards banquet and either nobody wins or someone wins but something embarrassing happens.

- Get Smart: Season 2, episode 25, "How to Succeed in the Spy Business Without Really Trying" (1967). Max hosts an award ceremony for all the chiefs of Control.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 1, episode 9, "Bob and Rhoda and Teddy and Mary" (1970). A Sunday news show Mary produces is nominated for a "Teddy" (Television Editors) Award.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 3, episode 23, "Put on a Happy Face" (1973). It's time for the annual Teddy awards, and Mary's falling apart: she's sick, she sprained her ankle, her dress is ruined, her date canceled, her hair dryer broke, and one of her false eyelashes fell off, and the worst part is she actually won an award.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 4, episode 21, "Ted Baxter Meets Walter Cronkite" (1974). After running an expensive publicity campaign, Ted finally wins a Teddy award.
- The Odd Couple: Season 5, episode 13, "The Bigger They Are" (1974). Felix wins a "Dink" award from the "Association for the Advancement of Commercials and Advertising" for a commercial he shot for a weight loss product, but he declines to accept it because he won it under false pretenses.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 5, episode 22, "You Can't Lose 'Em All" (1975). Lou wins an award that's traditionally given to washed up old people at the ends of their careers, and he resents it.
- America 2 Night: Season 1, episode 61, "UBS Awards Ceremony" (1978). Barth hosts the UBS network awards.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 2, episode 24, "Most Improved Station" (1980). WKRP gets snubbed for "Most Improved Station" in Cincinnati, and Les storms the stage, complaining that it was supposed to be fixed in their favor.
- It's a Living: Season 6, episode 2, "The Nancy and Roscoe Show" (1988). The annual lounge singer awards (the "Lizzie") ceremony is held at the restaurant, and Sonny is nominated for an award, but nobody cares.
- The Golden Girls: Season 6, episode 14, "Sister of the Bride" (1991). Rose is convinced she's going to win a charity award since the woman who usually wins it passed away, but the dead woman wins instead.
- Bob: Season 1, episode 15, "You Can't Win" (1993). At the "Buster" awards ceremony, the creator of the gang's rival comic book series wins almost every award, and to make matters worse, Trisha is his date.
- Frasier: Season 1, episode 18, "And the Whimper is..." (1994). Frasier and Roz are nominated for a "SeaBea" award, and they're desperate to win, so they decide to buy fancy gifts for all of the judges, convinced they'll sway the vote their way. Meanwhile a retiring broadcaster who has been nominated several times but never won, is also hoping he'll be a winner. They're all surprised when two completely different people receive the award.
- Frasier: Season 2, episode 19, "Someone to Watch Over Me" (1995). Frasier and Roz have once again been nominated for a SeaBea award, but Frasier thinks a fan is stalking him, and Roz has a pimple on her nose, so Frasier spends the whole night being paranoid and Roz spends the whole night trying to cover her face.
- NewsRadio: Season 3, episode 6, "Awards Show" (1996). The gang is shocked when WNYX sweeps the American Broadcasters Society Awards (ABSAs), but they can't all enjoy their success because Dave is bitter about something a rival executive said in an interview, Matthew is preoccupied with imaginary aunts, and Joe is too busy trying to scare off any man who gets within a few feet of his date, Catherine.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 3, episode 20, "And the Femmy Goes To..." (1999). Nina, Maya, and Elliot are all nominated for "Femmy" awards, but Jack sneakily switched Maya's and Elliot's submissions, and neither one of them wants to win. Maya even goes so far as to write an acceptance speech that condemns the industry for praising articles like the one Jack submitted, "Cleavage Fever," but it gets mixed up with Nina's speech, and she accidentally reads it when she wins.
- Frasier: Season 11, episode 10, "Sea Bea Jeebies" (2003). This year's SeaBeas were doomed from: due to a mixup, they had to be held in the morning, which meant Frasier couldn't get a date. Roz's bitchy sister is in town, and her husband calls to say he's leaving her in the middle of the ceremony. A reporter is there to interview Frasier, but Niles shows up and hijacks, and in his anger, Frasier accidentally knocks out a man's glass eye, so everyone is searching for it while Frasier is trying to close the event.
- The Office (US): Season 2, episode 1, "The Dundies" (2005). Michael hosts the annual "Dundies" at a local Chili's, and his forced attempts at comedy, re-written lyrics to popular songs, and inappropriate award titles make things awkward until an inebriated Pam picks things up with her loud antics.
- The Office (US): Season 7, episode 20, "Michael's Last Dundies" (2011). DeAngelo co-hosts his first Dundies and Michael's last, but he's not up to the challenge. He starts the night by vomiting in the men's room so much that they have to shut it down. Then he puts on headphones while accepting his award and shouts so loudly into the microphone that they get thrown out.
