Too Soon
A character goes to the hospital due to an injury or illness and leaves too soon against doctor's orders.

- Fawlty Towers: Season 1, episode 6, "The Germans" (1975). Manuel accidentally hits Basil in the the head with a frying pan, knocking him out. He wakes up in the hospital and sneaks out against doctor's orders. Still confused and a little bit loopy, Basil makes a fool of himself in front of a group German guests while trying not to "mention the war."
- Night Court: Season 2, episode 2, "Daddy for the Defense" (1984). Selma goes to the hospital to have a bunion removed, then she surprises everyone by crawling into the courtroom after leaving the hospital too soon because she's never missed a day of work and doesn't want to break her streak.
- The Office (US): Season 7, episode 22, "The Inner Circle" (2011). DeAngelo injures himself by pulling the basketball hoop in the warehouse down on top of him while performing a dunk. An ambulance takes him away, but he leaves the hospital almost immediately and comes back to the office in a gown with a bandage on his head dragging an IV, and when he tries to talk it comes out as gibberish, so the gang escorts him back to the hospital.
- The Office (US): Season 8, episode 15, "Tallahassee" (2012). While in Tallahassee for a special project, Dwight comes down with appendicitis, but he stays at Nellie's conference because he wants to impress her in hopes that she'll give him an open vice president position. When Dwight finally passes out, he's rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, and as soon as he wakes up, he sneaks out of the hospital, returns to the conference, and tries to give a presentation for the Scranton group, but he's completely lost.
