A wedding is held in an unusual place, like a house or an office, probably to avoid the cost of building another set.

- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 3, episode 4, "Enter Rhoda's Parents" (1972). Rhoda's parents have their vow renewal ceremony in Mary's apartment.
- The Odd Couple: Season 5, episode 12, "Oscar in Love" (1974). Oscar is about to get married in his fiancé's apartment, but they both change their minds at the last minute.
- Rhoda: Season 1, episode 8, "Rhoda's Wedding" (1974). Rhoda and Joe get married in Rhoda's parents' apartment. The hallway serves as the aisle, and a neighbor lady walks by carrying her groceries.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 6, episode 9, "Ted's Wedding" (1975). Ted and Georgette get married in Mary's apartment with only a half hour's notice.
- The Odd Couple: Season 5, episode 22, "Felix Remarries" (1975). Felix and Gloria get remarried in Felix and Oscar's apartment. The roof starts leaking during the ceremony, but they continue the wedding anyway.
- Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman: Season 2, episode 55 (1976). Mary insists that Wanda and Merle get married in her house for some reason. She wants to have the wedding in the kitchen, but Wanda insists on the living room. I guess it's fancier.
- What's Happening!!: Season 2, episode 9, "Bill Gets Married" (1977). Mabel's ex-husband (Raj and Dee's father), Bill, is getting re-married, and Raj insists they have their wedding in the Thomas home.
- Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman: Season 2, episode 86 (1977). Amnesiac, Loretta—calling herself Lulu— agrees to marry Mac, and they hold the ceremony at Lou's Diner (because of course they do) with all the drunken locals as guests.
- America 2 Night: Season 1, episode 34, "Rolletti-Sherwood Wedding" (1978). Tony's wedding is held on the talk show set.
- Are You Being Served?: Season 6, episode 3, "Do You Take This Man?" (1978). The gang wants to throw a wedding for Mrs. Slocombe, but money and time are limited, so they get Mr. Grace to let them hold it in the store.
- Taxi: Season 1, episode 8, "Paper Marriage" (1978). The gang throws a wedding for Latka and Vivian in the garage.
- Soap: Season 4, episode 4 (1980). Eunice and Dutch get married in the Tate family home.
- Mork & Mindy: Season 2, episode 16, "Exidor's Wedding" (1979). Exidor marries his fiance, Ambrosia, in Mindy's attic.
- It's a Living: Season 2, episode 4, "The Wedding" (1981). A couple holds their wedding in the restaurant, and the groom leaves the bride at the altar because he's in love with Cassie.
- Taxi: Season 4, episode 21, "The Wedding of Latka and Simka (1982). Latka's second wedding (the real one) to Simka takes place in the garage.
- Cheers: Season 1, episode 20, "Someone Single, Someone Blue" (1983). Diane and Sam hold their quickie wedding so Diane's mom doesn't lose her money in the bar.
- Too Close for Comfort: Season 4, episode 6, "Son of the Groom" (1984). Henry's dad gets married in Henry and Muriel's living room for some reason.
- Cheers: Season 5, episode 7, "Coach in Love: Part 2" (1984). Coach plans his wedding at Cheers, but his fiance doesn't show up.
- It's a Living: Season 3, episode 9, "The Wedding Show" (1985). Jan and Richie plan to hold their wedding ceremony in the restaurant, but the minister is sick with a 104-degree fever. To everyone's surprise, Howard announces that he's an ordained minister, but he'll only marry them in the kitchen with only their immediate family.
- Cheers: Season 4, episode 17, "Second Time Around" (1986). Frasier goes off his rocker and decides to marry a woman he just met named Candi, and they hold the wedding at Cheers, but fortunately they change their minds.
- The Golden Girls: Season 2, episode 6, "Big Daddy's Little Lady" (1986). Blanche's father is getting married, and he tells Blanche they're having the wedding in the Bahamas, but she and Dorothy talk them into having the wedding in their house.
- Cheers: Season 5, episode 26, "I Do, Adieu" (1987). Sam and Diane decide to hold their wedding in the bar, but they don't go through with it.
- Cheers: Season 6, episodes 3-4, "Little Carla, Happy at Last" (1987). Carla and Eddie plan to get married at Cheers (apparently they didn't see any of the previous doomed weddings that were planned there), but their wedding day is plagued with problems, and the end up squeezing into a crowded church and getting married there.
- ALF: Season 2, episode 8, "Something's Wrong with Me" (1987). Kate's mom is getting married, and Kate insists she have the wedding at the Tanners' house.
- The Golden Girls: Season 4, episodes 6-7, "Sophia's Wedding" (1988). Sophia marries her late husband's estranged business partner, Max, in Blanche's house.
- The Larry Sanders Show: Season 2, episode 15, "Hank's Wedding" (1993). Hank is getting married, and he asks if he can have the ceremony on the show. With sweeps week coming up, Artie is all for it.
- Bob: Season 2, episode 7, "Have Yourself a Married Little Christmas" (1993). Whitey's getting married in Bob's house for some reason.
- Wings: Season 6, episode 26, "Here It Is: The Big Wedding" (1995). Due to a bizarre set of circumstances, Joe and Helen hold their wedding in a bathroom.
- Wings: Season 7, episode 14, "Bye George" (1996). Fay announces to the gang that she's going to City Hall to get married, and Helen insists they get married at her house instead for some reason.
- Community: Season 3, episode 11, "Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts" (2012). Shirley and Andre are getting re-married, and they're having their wedding in the study room because of reasons.
- Still Game: Season 9, episode 5, "Hitched" (2019). The gang want to throw Winston and Winnie a wedding they'll never forget, but with little to no funds, they have to go a non-traditional route. Since Jack and Victor's old buddy told them he was a curator at a museum, they ask to have the wedding there, but their friend lied about being the curator, so he has to sneak them in at night after the museum is closed.
